"what mothers withhold" reveals what mothers sometimes withhold from their children. The poems hold    stories of infertility, pregnancy, and birth. They hold what mothers carry in body and mind: grief, protectiveness, and the fiercest love. A thread of longing begins with mothers in the Bible, imagining with Madeline L’Engle, and arrives at what mothers hold closest: hope.

I earned my Master of Arts in Creative Writing from Perelandra College.
I have been widely published in literary publications including
Texas Poetry Calendar, di-verse-city, and the DEFY! Anthology.

A dream called me from California to Austin in 2001, where I am now
happily surrounded by my husband, daughters, and dog Grover.
